How to Create Custom Audiences?

This article walks you through how to create a custom audience in Ignite. Custom audiences allow you to segment visitors based on brand, behavior, or model-specific interest, helping you deliver more targeted offers and marketing campaigns.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to Site Information
Log into the platform and open the Site Information page for the site where you want to create a custom audience.

2. Go to Audiences
Click on the Audiences tab in the top navigation, then open the First Party Audiences tab to view segments built from your website data.

3. Click “New Custom Audience”
Select New Custom Audience to begin the setup process. In this example, we’ll create a segment for All New Jeep models listed on the site.

4. Choose Audience Type
Click the NEW button to indicate this audience is for New Model Visitors, then click Next to move forward.

5. Select a Brand
From the list of available brands, click Jeep. This filters the custom audience to focus on New Jeep related inventory. Click Next again to proceed.

6. Choose Model Categories
You’ll see a list of Jeep models available on the site. To create a full All New Jeep audience, select "All", then click Review.

👉 If you want a model specific custom audience, simply select the models you want included; i.e. an "All New Jeep Wagoneer" custom audience would include Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Wagoneer L.

7. Name the Custom Audience
Enter a descriptive name for the audience, such as All New Jeep, to clearly identify its purpose and criteria.

8. Save the Audience
Click Save to finalize and create the new custom audience. You’ll return to the First Party Audiences page where it will now appear in your list.

9. Navigate to Offers
To start using this audience in a campaign, go to the Engagements tab and select Offers from the dropdown menu.

10. Create an Offer for the Audience
Find your new audience in the list—All New Jeep—and click Create Offer to build a targeted promotion specifically for this segment.
